NO WHEAT FOR NAZIS.
Minister Sees Advantages Of Joining Axis. United Press Association.—Copyright. (Reed, noon.) LOXDOX, Aug. 22. According to a. Bucharest message, experts estimate that Germany will receive no wheat from Rumania this year, compared with 2,000,000 tons last year. Floods, mobilisation and territorial losses have reduced the Tear's harvest to 1,850,000 tons. Internal consumption alone is 2,620,000 tons. The Minister of National Economy, in a broadcast, announced that Germany had recen'.'y agreed to buy the whole surplus 1 1 cereal production from Rumania at stable prices. The German purchases would enable Rumania to import modern agricultural equipment. By joining the Axis Rumania had definitely entered the new economic organisation Vf the Continent. The Government would receive higher prices for agricultural products and pay4ower prices for industrial products. The Minister admitted a drop of 1,000,000 tons in the wheat crop.

SOVIET WRITES BRITAIN. British Official Wipriess. (Reed. 1.30 p.m.) RUGBY, Aug. 22. Mr. K. A. Butler, Foreign Under-Secre-tarr, told the House of Commons that a "communication had been received from the Soviet Government regarding the incorporation of three Baltic States in the Soviet Union. It was etil! under the consideration of the British Government, and he was not in a position to disclose its contents.

Trotsky Murder "Attempt By One Of Our Followers. ,, DEATH NOT PUBLISHED. (Reed. 11 a.m.) LONDON*, Aug. 22. A Moscow message says Trotsky's death was not published in the Press, which makes only a small inside pape announcement of the attack, faying the assassination was attempted "by one of our followers." General Cardenas, President of Mexico, has ordered that the expenses of Leon Trotsky's funeral be paid by the Mexican Government. The police have held a girl, Sylvia Atreloff. whose sifter Euth originally introduced the assailant to Trotsky.
