CAULIFLOWER PRICES UP. GREEN PEAS SELL WELL. Prices for cauliflower were higher at the « city auction markets to-day, despite the t fact that supplies were heavy. Values for t . cabbage, on the other hand, remained low. 'f All potatoes came forward in large quantities, but for choice lines of new potatoes rates were satisfactory to the > grower. , Pumpkin was marketed in larger quantities than last week. Good lines realised fair prices, but others were hard to quit. 8 Hothouse cucumbers apppeared to-day and made fair prices. Small consignments of § green peas also met with a ready inquiry. 3 In the fruit section, ther£"."was a fair 6 demand for dessert peas, while really 7 choice passion fruit, iffuntud values. 1 Prices were: ■•..,-•• ■' Vegetables. Tree tomatoes: New Black, 7/ to 10/ case; Yellow. 5/ to 8/ case. Marmalade oranges: 5/ to 7/ case. Grapefruit: New Zealand, choice, 8/ to 10/; others, 5/ to 9/. Lemons: 6/6 to 15/6 three-quarter case, according to grade and count. Passion fruit: 10/ to 20/ case. Butter and Eggs. Eggs.—Hen. standard grade, 1/6% doz; > duck, standard grade, 1/6%. - Farmers' Butter.—l' to 1/6% per ib s Poultry. At to-day's auctions the supply of poultry was medium and the demand was keen for all table birds, which resulted in a rise 'all round. Day-old cockerels were unsaleable. Cockerels: Heavy breeds, prime, 7/ to 8/ each; not prime. 5/ to 6/ each. Light breeds, prime, 5/ to 6/ each: not prime, 2/6 to 4/ each. Hens: Heavy breeds. 5/ to 7/ each: light breeds, 4/ to 5/6 each. Drakes': Young, prime. 4/ to 5/ each. Ducks: Young, 4/ to 5/ each: old, 2/6 to 3/6 each. Geese: 4/6 to 1 5/6 each. Turkeys: Hens. 6/ to 8/ each; gobblers, 10/ to 18/ each. Cockerel chicks: Heavy breeds, Id each; light breeds, Id each. .
