Mr. G. F. Lane returned from Wellington fov train this morning. Mr. H. McCoy arrived from Wellington by the early express this morning. Mr. W. F. Fowlds has been elected to a seat on the council of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce. Mr. A. £. Ford, manager of the Auckland Transport Board, has returned from a visit to Wellington. Mr. Hugh McChesney, assistant chief inspector of schools Auckland, is spending a holiday at InvercargilL The Hon. Mr. Justice CRegan was a passenger from Wellington by the Limited express this morning. The Hons. E. R. Davis and J. E. Duncan, M-L.C.'s, arrived from Wellington by the Limited express this morning. Mr. F. O. Marklew, communications engineer for the Railway Department, will leave for the south by train tonight. Mr. H. M. Rusbworth, Auckland provincial president of the Xcw Zealand • Farmers' Union, has returned from a visit to tlie Islands. Mr. A. W.
