HUNTLY CHALLENGE LEAGUE CHAMPIONS.
There will he an opportunity of comparing the respective standards of League football in the city and country at Carlaw Park to-morrow afternoon, when, in the principal match, the Iluntly team from the Lower Waikato will meet Richmond, the champion Auckland team of the present Reason. There are some well-known players in the visiting team, and several who took part in the New Zealand trial matches last season. The Iluntly full-back is T. Shaw, n player of marked ability. E. Tukere is a speedy and dashing wing three-quarter, and J. Hrooks is one of the best hookers in the province. Richmond will put a strong all-round side in the field. They have outstanding forwards in Devine, -Mitchell and McLeod. and a back division, led by D. Solomon, which is composed largely of Auckland representative players. lilchniond show good combination, and will be hard to defeat. The early match on the No. 1 ground will be between North Shore and Manukau. and the result will have an important bearing on deciding the runner-up for the senior cluli championship. Papakura will play Mount Albert at Morningslde, and on the No. 2 ground at Carlaw Park Ponsonhy will play Marist. and City will play Newton. Mr. K.
