THE CARDINAL AND KILCASH. Several visiting horses fliat arrived overnight were worked over sprint distances at KHnrslie tills morning. No. 3 grass track, on which flip poles were 10ft out, was in use, and the going was on the heavy side, thnuuli it had improved since yesterday. Tlie Cardinal (B. Flying Acre (Ford) covered the same distance in .IP.s. ]l 0 also looks in first-elnss order. It is doubtful whether fins horse has ever looked better than at present. Lou Itosa (Cameron) had a good dc 1 in reserve while running half a milr ,n .V. 3-".s. GLOBE TROTTER.
BUILDING UP NICELY.
SIR BEAU IN GOOD HEART. WANGANUI, Thursday. Wangannl horses engagert at the Hunt Club's combined meeting at New Plymouth nnd the Wanganui meeting at Awapuni are all well forward. Promenade, Uvedale and All Bunsby are engaged nt the former fixture' next week, nnd all three should run well in their events. This morning Uvedale finished up n round nt hnlf pace by running two furlongs on No. 1 track in 20 l-.V. She was wide out and had close on 10.0 in the saddle, ami rtid it nicely. If the Leighon filly races up to her bost track form slip should pay her way on the trip to New Plymouth. It will depend on how she shapes there whether she fulfils her engagement in the Wanganui Guineas. Pro/menndo wn* given three rounds at from half to. three-quarter paee, running the lent two' furlongs in 27 l-ss. The Rcfiinoiis gelding l<* a good jumper, ami in his recent schooling essays has dose well enough to suggest that he will be .hard to' beat in back nnd hnntere' steeplechase events next week. X.. ; .' >.' All Bunsby had Lord Vegas as a .companion In a spin over half a mile. They cut out the first quarter in a tick under 2."5», but we're not doing their best over the final stages to register 51 Js with All Bunsby in front. He looks improved since running econd at Marton, and should keep his opponents busy at New Plymouth. Lord Vega si is an improving gelding, nnd the son of Musketoen might win a race or two later on for his owner-trnlncr, Mr. J. Nicholson. Dynasty nml Sir Bean were associated in n couple of rounds of pneo work, finishing up with a burst over two furlongs without being extended, registering 26 2-3s. Sir Beau wae bowling along in very easy style, nnd if .appearances go for anything has a three-year-old career that should be in keeping with the brilliant form lie showed last season. He was a bit sore recently but seems to. have thrown off the trouble, nnd all going well in the interim his prospects ! in the Wanganui Guineas look verv bright Dynasty is to contest the principal handicap events at Awapuni, and he should give a good account of himself as he has wintered well, and is fairly well forward. Globe Trotter has been given a lot of trotting exercise by W. H. Dwyerf and he appears to be thriving on It, as he is building up nicely. :
