RECREATION WEEK.

Parry, on the success of the recreation week recently held at Hamilton was mentioned by Mr. L. Cross, physical welfare officer in the Waikato, at a meeting of the Hamilton Physical Welfare and Recreation Committee last night. The Minister stated that the report covering the activities of the recreation week gave encouraging and practical evidence of the worjc of the physical welfare instructors and enabled the Government to formulate a picture of what achievement was possible in the future. Mr. Cross said that about 950 people took part in the various functions and 2563 paid for admission. Mr. W. H. Paul, secretary of the Waikato Winter Show Association, said that the association would grant a rebate of all rent and charge only actual expenses. Any profit would go to the Patriotic Committee, which would probably receive nearly £100.,
