It was big day for ladies' hockey on Saturday. Roth the senior\nid intermediate championships were completed and the junior seven-a-side tournament was held.

Senior championship honours went to University Blue, with Training College only one point behind. It was a well-merited victory, as University has finished high up in the championship for the past few years.

Great interest was centred in the intermediate grade game between Harcunin-.i and Technical B. From the opening bully to the final whistle the game was fast and close, with Hareunion t tie winner by one goal to nil. This gave tln*m the championship, a tine achievement for a new team and much may be expected of them next season.

The seven-a-side tournament generallv contested on the King's Birthdav takes tlnform of a knock-out competition. This vear honours went to Weslev.

The main senior game was between Technical and Training C'olleire, llie latter winning by three goals to nil. College had all the play at the start and the Technical defence was hard pressed. The first goal came front a long shot just inside the circle. A few minutes later, after one or two determined efforts. Miss Sterling broke through to give the goal-keeper no chance with a clean, hard shot. Technical rallied and kept play in the centre until just before halftime, when College registered their third goal. On the resumption of plav Technical took the offensive, but poor finishing spoilt their efforts. The game took on a different

complexion and throughout the second half College failed to n'dd to their score. Much credit for this must go to the Technical defence, which stood up well under pressure In tills division K. Jones and J. Mill# could always l>e relied on. For the winners Miss I. batty was outstanding and her wellplaccd shots repeatedly set her forwards in action.

University BJue was clearly superior In its game against Cleredon and ran up the large score of 11 goals. Playing two short. (levedon was outclassed in everv department. For University H. I loot en scored liie goals. K. ISilke.v three, and J. Jlcl.cchie two. The outstanding player on the field was Xli£s I,uke. of Clcvedon. Plavmg full-baek and goal-keeper combined It was remarkable the way she timed her 'i ' n,,mhor of occasions on winch she alone was responsible for the breaking up of forward movements.
