EXHIBITION GALLOPS IN STPNET.
High Caste performed brilliantly In a between-races gallop at Victoria Park, Sydney; ° n Saturday last (says the "Sydney Sun ).
Accompanied by St Constant, he dashed over five furlongs in 1.1 J. High Caste was going so easily that if his jockey (E. Bartle) had desired he could have won the gallop by lengths and reduced the time to well under 1.1. Even so, it was regarded as one of the fastest trials ever recorded at Victoria Park, as the pair kept well out from Ihe rails. They covered the last half-mile in 48js.
Beau Vite (F. Hickey) and Geebung galloped over five furlongs in 1.6, including the last two furlongs in 295. Neither was extended. Geebung, last year's Epsom winner, went straight to the front, and Beau Vite caught him on the post. Racegoers were Impressed with the progress Beau Vite has made since he beat Gold Eod Reading and High Caete in races here last spring. ADELAIDE NATIONAL HURDLES ADELAIDE, August 18.
