USE BY THE HOME GUARD. LONDON, Aug. 13.

The "Daily Telegraph" says thousands of light machine-guns will shortly be issued to members of the Home Guard. There are many improvised strong points in the country where the rifle would be of little value in an emergency and this accounts for the decision to equip units with guns capable of rapid fire. These guns and also millions of rounds of ammunition were recently purchased in the United States.
