XAITAIA BUTCHER FIXED. XAITAIA, this day. Unstamped and incorrect scales used in a butcher's shop delivery van were the subject of charges heard by Mr. Rarmond Ferner, S.M., against C. F. Hutlev, a Waipapakauri storekeeper, under * the Weights and Measures Act. Defendant pleaded guilty, offering the excuse that \ neither scale was in regular use. His other scales in the store were legally stomped. He was convicted and fined £5 for using an incorrect scale, and 10/ for using an unstamped scale, and was ordered to pay court costs in respect to both charges.
