In a lengthy review of work ("iris* the year it was stated that the growth of the society had been phenomenal, sad expansion had been so rapid that it had been difficult to keep pace with all tee activities and functions which the society had been called upon to fulfil. The number of sub-centres la the Auckland district had increased at March 91 to SI, * total bbbbbership of 5575, showing an increase of 4967 during the year. To be eligible for training V-A-D/i had to have certificates in first aid, boat nursing and hygiene, stated the report. 1 raining consisted of a full week at the. Auckland Hospital and two Satordavc - at the Auckland Infirmary, and those taking the training had to be available lor service in emergency. In connection with the Finnish relief scheme, stated the report. 53 cases had been sent overseas, containing 4450 item* of clothing. To the end of Julv the figures showed that 24,090 garment* had , •wen dealt with. A sum of £350 was remitted to the Finnish Bed Cross. Special mention was made of the work of the retiring president. Mr. T. Mcl Tab. who had intimated that he would b* unable to continue in office this vear.
