AMUSEMENTS.
ROXY-TIVOLI. Sixty minutes of action and suspense, liberally sprinkled with humour, are contained in the exciting melodrama "Enemy Agent," which heads the outstanding double-feature programme to be presented to-morrow at the Roxy and Tivoli Theatres. The other film to be ecreened is also a drama, entitled "Mystery 'Plane." The plot of the first film is based on the efforts of a gang of spies to steal the secret of a newly-developed aeroplane bomb eight from an American aviation company. Richard Cromwell, a young player who nevertheless has behind him some excellent screen performances, takes the role of a young aviation draughtsman, and a good job lie makes of his part. His leading lady is the beautiful Helen Vinson, seen as an under-cover operative for the Government. Robert Armstrong has a "strong man" role as the G-man in the case. Others in the cast are Marjorie Reynolds, Jack Arnold, Russell Hicks, Jack La Rue, Luis Alberni, Jack Carson and Philip Dorn. The capable Lew Landers directed the film. "Enemy Agent" is an outstanding show. STATE THEATRE. "French Without Tears," one of the most successful stage farces of recent years, made into a film, proves one of the brightest of the vear. Showing now at the State Theatre. Symonds Street, the film 6tars Ray Milland.
