ON 'CHANGE.
LESS BUSINESS DONE. MARKET STILL FIRM. GILT-EDGEDS INQUIRED FOR. Less business was done at the morning ' call of the Auckland Stock Exchange, but the tone of the market was still firm, and of the three sales two showed an advance while the third was steady. Wilsons Cement, at 18/, showed an improvement of 2d. Three parcels changed hands and there is still a buyer at the price of the sale. Buyers made small advances in some industrials—for the 10/ and 15/ issue of Reid Rubber, for example—but generally the market was not mucli changed. Sellers in tile gilt-edged section are conspicuous by their absence,- while the fact thai, a buyer for a 1964 4U per cent local body debenture was willing to give £106 10/ is an indication of how keen buyers are for this kind of issue. Brighter Noon Call. There was more life in the bidding at the noon call and six sales were recorded. Of these, five were at level values, while the sixth, that of Macduffs (prf.) was the hist since March, when the figure was ]J/6. To-day's sale, at 13/, then, shows a drop of 6d. Wilsons Cement. BanK of New Zealands and Broken Hill Proprietaries again changed hands. They are the issues in which business has been done consistently in the past few days. Apart from issues in which the sales took place, bidding was keener, with buyers advancing in a number of sections. New Zealand insurances we:e a shade firmer, with £2 18/ for buyers, while a 6cllcr came forward at £2 19/. Woolworths, both New Zealand and Sydney, were a little weaker.
