TAXATION METHODS.
TIMBER WORKERS' VIEWS. The Auckland Timber Workers' Union lias passed a resolution expressing the opinion that the Government's present plan of raising revenue, for war purposes places an undue burden on the workers, and calls on the Government to effect a more just distribution of the financial burden of the war, by removing all taxation on incomes below £286 a year, and compelling the "well-to-do" to contribute more in accordance with their capacity to pay, by surrendering all incomes in excess of £300 a year.
