SLIP ON RAILWAY.

WAIRARAPA LINE BLOCKED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Tuesday. A freight train travelling on the Wairarapa line between the Summit and Cross Creek about 2.30 p.m. to-day encountered a slip across the line about a quarter of a mile south of the Summit. About 500 cubic yards of rock had fallen across the line, and for a chain rocks were piled up 10ft high across the permanent way. A breakdown train was speedily sent •to- the scene,. and it is hoped to have the line cleared late to-morrow morning. Meanwhile the Wellington-Wairarapa rail-service is dislocated. ]
