KATAN APPEALS TO BLOMFIELD.

ANOTHER TILT AT EMPIRE TITLE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Tuesday. John Katan, of Canada, who was beaten by Lofty Blomfield, of Auckland, in a match for the British Empire wrestling championship last night in Wellington, stated to-day that he would not meet any other wrestler until he had been given a return match against Blomfield. lie did not think the decision fair. "I must protest at the manner in which Blomfield won the championship," said Katan. "First the ring collapsed and this prevented me from using my superior speed. I had to watch that I did not smash the ring and finish on the floor. Then, when I had Blomfield in a bad way in the sixth round, the referee ordered me to break. As I released Blomfield, I was kicked in the face and knocked back. Thnt was when Blomfield took the only fall of the match. "What is more, the referee did not give the usual three taps on the floor. He gave a quick fall. I am wanted bv the wrestling people in Australia, but first I consider I am entitled to a chance of regaining the title. I sincerely believe the better man did not win last night, and that I was not given a fair deal. For that reason I challenge Blomfield to meet me in a championship match. If Blomfield is the sportsman New Zealanders claim him to be, he will give me my chance." AUCKLAND AMATEURS.
