SAVINGS FOR WAR.
EFFORTS IN GREAT BRITAIN. LONDON, August 3. A total of £9,192,037 was raised last week in war savings, of which £3,265,562 was from the sale of savings certificates, £3,889,475 from the sale of defence bonds, and £2,037,000 from the increase in the balance due to depositors in the Post Office Savings Bank and trustee savings banks. Since the opening of the campaign £181,333,266 has been raised by the eale of savings certificates and £135,418,455 by the eale of defence bonds. During the same period the balance due to depositors in the Poet Office Savings Bank and trustee savings banks increased by £46,835,314, giving a grand total of £313,587,035.
