Gordon, of Hamilton, has pointed out that the future of the party will be determined by willingness to learn and turn to account experiences of the pas'. as to-day the Government touched p.actically every sphere cf people's lives, and it was a state of affaire whichj, would be likely to continue when the war ended. The economic life of the people was continually changing, and peace, security and prosperity for all should-be the. underlying principles of good government. Mr. Gordon said that inany people were aware that all was not well with the political and economic system, and the need for some change was widely recognised. During the war a new workable system, suitable to present thoughts and desires, had to be hammered out, 6o that when war was over all sections of the community would be i able to enjoy a better and fuller life, one that was obviously possible if the necessary framework and organisation could be established. He regarded as important the questions of educational and political policy.
