NOT COWARDS.
BRITISH PEOPLE.
Invasion Will Be Anything But Pleasant. BERLIN PAPER'S WARNING. Uni<t<l Press Association.—Copyright. (Received 10 a.m.) LOXDOX, July 30. The German newspaper "Voelkischer Beobachter" says the war on British soil will be anything but a pleasant stroll through the English countryside. Englishmen and Scotsmen are not cowards and no doubt will defend themselves courageously. Authorised sources describe the daily air raids along the coasts against shipping as a softening process designed to rattle British military leadership and cause nervousness among civilians, besides damaging military objectives. The Germans are reported to have relaxed the suspension of communications between occupied and unoccupied zones in France to allow of only one passenger train daily for the services and Ministers going to Paris, says a Vichy message. Road movement is allowed to continue for refugees, provided their petrol tanks are full when crossing the boundary.
