RIFLE SHOT WOUNDS.
MAORI'S CONDITION SERIOUS

Admitted to the Kawakawa Hospital last evening suffering from rifle-9hot wounds in the head, forehead and jaw, a Maori labourer, Manga Pera, aged 55, single, was reported to-day to be in a serious but not critical condition. Pera belonged to the Kaikohe native settlement, where he lived with a sister and two nieces.
Upon receiving a communication from the settlement. Constable D. Robertson went there and found Pera lying on his bed. A rifle was 011 the floor in a large pool of blood. Dr. N. CI. McLean waft called, and, after attending to Pera, ordered his removal to the Kawakawa Hospital.
