COMMANDANT WHITTAKER.

WELLIXGTOX, this day,

The death has occurred of Commandant Annie Whittaker, a retired Salvation Army officer, at the age of tiS years. Since 1913. when she was transferred from Britain, she has devoted herself to women's social work in Xew Zealand, serving in institutions at Christchurch, Wellington and Dunedin. She was also at Pakatoa for a period. After retiring in 1928 she resided in Auckland, and only recently came to Wellington.
