POST OFFICE AND SHOP. Raiding of suburban post offices bj safeblowers continues. Last night burglars broke into the Highbury post office, situated in a block of buildings about half a mile from Birkenhead, and » jeweller's shop three doors away is the same buildings. In both cases they smashed a gfeui panel in the doors and unlatched the lock from the inside to gain entrance. Nothing was stolen from the post office, but the thieves exploded a. charge of gelignite in the keyhole of the eafe. The charge jammed the locking mechanism so that the door could not be opened. From the jeweller's shop of Mr. Hi H. Stringer the thieves stole serenl chromium watehes, a gold watch and other articles of jewellery, including« ring and a brooch, of a total vaJae of £20.
