LAST RESPECTS.

LATE MR. R. T. REID, MANY TRIBUTES PAID. REPRESENTATIVE FUNERAL. City and country interests were blended to-day in tribute to the late Mr. R. T. Reid, chairman of the Auckland Harbour Board. In public life, farming circles and the world of sport he had been a very prominent figure, and there were representatives of local bodies and many organisations at the funeral, which left this afternoon for the Wuikumete Crematorium. Prior to the cortege leaving the city, a service was conducted by the Rev. H. J. Lilburne at the chapel of W. H. Tongue and Son, Limited, Mount Eden Road. The pall-bearers were Messrs H. Luke and A. S. Sutherland, representing the Auckland Harbour Board, Messrs. H. Grayson, G. Jew, J. Lethbridge and Mr. Norman Reid, a nephew of the late Mr. Reid. Many Present. The Government was represented by the Minister of Internal Affairs, the Hon. W. E. Parry. The Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates was also present. The Auckland Harbour Board was represented by the deputy-chairman, Mr. H. Luke, members of the board, the harbourmaster, Captain H. H. Sergeant, the secretary, Mr. W. Brook Smith, treasurer, Mr. C. F. Garratt, actingengineer, Mr. N. L. Vickerman, traffic manager, Mr. W. R. Golden, and purchasing officer, Mr. F. Robinson. Representatives of the Auckland Harbour Board Social Welfare Club, and Auckland Harbour Board Employees' Union were also present. Local bodies and organisations were represented as follows: Auckland City Council, the Mayor, Sir Ernest Davis, the town clerk, Mr. J. Melling, and Mr. A. S. Bailey; Auckland Savings Bank, the president, Mr. E. Anderson, and the manager, Mr. F. E. Sutherland; Auckland Hospital Board, the chairman, Mr. Allan J. Moody, and Mrs. M. M. Dreaver; Auckland Electric Power Board, the chairman, Mr. S. J. Harbutt, deputy-chairman, Mr. S. I. Crookes, and general manager, Mr. R. H. Bartley; Waitemata Electric Power Board, Mr. W. R. T. Leighton and the acting manager, Mr. J. R. Miller; Auckland Transport Board, the chairman, Mr. W. H. Nagle, and the engineer and manager, Mr. A. E. Ford; Auckland Transport Board Club, Mr. F. M. Farrelly; Auckland Trotting Club and New Zealand Trotting Conference, Mr. E. Bridgens; New Zealand Trotting Association, Mr. P. Buxton; Auckland Racing Club, the Hon. E. R. Davis, Messrs. W. S. Spence and M. J. Lynch; Dominion Wrestling Union, Mr. A. Bunker; Auckland Wrestling Association, Messrs. E. C. Johnston, R. Porter and G. Learning; Auckland Boxing Association, Messrs. W. Harper, F. Home, P. Seabrook, Rex Moore, H. Brien, F. Kennedy, H. Watts. Beautiful Wreaths.
