GRAIN AND PRODUCE.
BRAN AND POLLARD SHORT. The following in the official -weekly report of the Auckland Grain. Seed and Produce Merchants' Association:— Wheat.—The demand for wheat is now being supplied ex merchants' stores at the unaltered price of 7/3 to 7/4 per bushel. Advice of the next shipment to arrive is now awaited, and buyers will be notified ae soon as possible. For maize the inquiry ia confined chiefly to imported grain, selling at 8/3 to 8/6 per bushel. It is expected that the New Zealand maize will be suitable in condition for trading in ncAt month. Chaff is being offerer! more freely frem the South, and the demand ie steady at from £12 10/ to £13 5/ per ton. Graded oote are in short supply and with only a normal demand. The price remain* firm at 5/0 to 6/1 per buehel. The next shipment of barley ia due to arrive about the middle of Aupust and it ia being offered at 4/5 per btiehcl, net f .o.r. or f .0.b., Auckland, cash before du>patch, for a minimum of 10 sacks. The present day demand ie being supplied ex merchante' stores:—Undipped, 4/10 to 4/11 per bushel; clipped, 5/3 to 5/5. The (rreatest trouble in still being expciienced in securing supplies of bran and pollard from Australia, and merchants are forced to ration orders.
