PUMPKIN RATES LOW.
TRICES EASE FOR GRAPES.
Tair prices were realised for parsnips at the city auction markets to-day. This vegetable is in good supply. Values were high for sprouts, which are also fairly plentiful, though for pumpkin, supplies of which are large, prices were low. Once again stocks of cabbage and cauliflower wore heavy with a resultant low return. There was a ready sale for fair quantities of lettuce. Though values for hothouse grapes are still high, they have eased somewhat compared with last week. Values for tree tomatoes were a little lower to-day, a£ supplies were somewhat heavier. Fruit. Prices were:- Apples: Delicious. 6/ to 8'- per case; M(Liver's Winesap, 6/ to S/; Salome. 6/ to 7,'; Ballarat, 5/; Sturmcre, 8/; Granny Smith, 6/ to 8/. Lemons, C/G to 15, (i per three-quarter bushel caee; bananas, 28/; grapes, hothouse, 3/ to 4/10 per lb; paasion.», 10/ to 18/ per case; grapefruit. New Zealand, 6/ to 9/; small, 4/ to s'; Cook Island oranges, 18/6 to 23/6. Vegetables. Prices have improved since luesdny for most lines of Iceland poppies nnd anemones. The general tone . wad better than earlier in the week.
