SHEARING RATES.
FOR COMING SEASON.
COMMITTEE'S DECISION.

A special committee -under the Shearers and Shed Hands' Award hats fixed the following rates, of pay for the coming season:—.Shearing by machine, not less than £1 10/6 per hundred, with rations; shearing by hand, not less than £1 13/ per hundred, with rations. Where shearers find their own rations an allowance of 4/ a day shall Ibe paid; stud sheep and hogget rams, ordinary •rate and a half; other rams, double the ordinary rate. The rates of pay for other workers arc:— Pressens, £4 10/(i a week, or 2/51 an hour; all other shed hands, £4 0/6 a week, or 2/31 an hour; cook* (where cooking for 12 men or under), £o 0/6, or 19/3 a day for less than seven days. Where more than 12 men have to be catered for, the rate shall 'be increased by 2/6 a week for each additional man. Where the number exceeds 18, an assistant cook must be employed, and for over 28 men the rate is to be fixed by mutual agreement. Cooks* assistants will receive £4 i>/6 a week, or 16/2 a day if less than seven days. Special rates for work after noon on Saturday arc: —Pressor* 2/01 an hour, and shed hands 1/10 an hour.
