LOFTY WRESTLES FOR EMPIRE TITLE.
■Wrestling of a particularly exciting vnriciy should bo seen at the Town Hall on Monday when Blointicld, New Zcaland champion, will challenge John Katan, new chnmpion of the British Empire. When they met nt the l>cginning of the 1!M0 season Blomfleld and Katan provided an exliibition of wrestling "fireworks" which was stated' by Wellington critles to be one of the best they had seen. On that occasion Katan proved the winner. Since then Katan has demonstrated! that. •he is one of tlie strongest and best equipped wrestlers in the world. One by one he has met and defeated! the members of the particularly strong team of wrestlers now in the country, and he capped' a remarkable season with his defeat of the Empire champion. E<arl MeCready. In meeting him on Monday Blomfleld will be lacing his hardest match to date. He is confident, however, that he can at last gain the title he has sought for years.
