TRUCKER'S CLAIM.
ECHO OF MINE HOLD-UP. COMPENSATION SOUGHT. ' (By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Keiporter.) WELLINGTON*. Friday. A claim for compensation for time lost l>y the irucivcr suspended at the end of May from the Liverpool mine on the West ('oast was made to-day to the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. P. Fraser, by a deputation from the State Miners' Union. The dismissal of the trucker led to the strike of one week by the miners in the three State collieries on the West Coast. The Prime Minister promised to investigate the claim and to give a reply later. The deputation returned to the West Coast to-night.
