FOUND DROWNED.
BODY ON BEACH.
FINDING AT INQUEST.
A verdict that death was due to accidental drowning was returned by I the coroner, Mr. F. K. Hunt, who held an inquest to-day into the death of Arthur Sandiford, motor driver, whose body was found 011 the Blockhouse Bay beach on the afternoon of April 20. Deceased was a married man, aged 57, and lived at 19, Kingsland Avenue, Mount Roskill
Evidence was given that deceased, who was a strong swimmer and frequently went to Blockhouse Bay and Waikowhai in his car, was missed from his home at 6 a.m. on April 20. Search was made and that afternoon deceased's body, clad only in a pair of woollen swimming shorts, was found on the ■beach at Blockhouse Bay. During the previous few weeks deceased had complained of pains in the region of the heart, but had not 'been attended by a doctor.
