POLICEMEN'S PROPOSAL. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) NAPIKR, this day. Members of the [Hilice force in the Napier district have voluntarily decided that, if suitable arrangements can be made to accommodate the children of English police officers who may be sent to New Zealand as refugees, tliev would accept responsibility for their care. It was pointed out at a meeting of local police officers that if arrangements were made for New Zealand policemen to take children of British police officers the children would enter homes oH'erin"an environment similar to that with which they were already familiar. The support and co-operation of ]>olice officers in other districts are to be sought in the matter.
