Clubs And Societies.

Auckland Manx Society.—The first birthday of the society was celebrated in conjunction with Tvnwald Day. An enjoyable evening was spent by meml>ers and representatives from kindred societies, who were welcomed by the president. Mr. R. Gat field. Manx songs were rendered bv Miss Kinley. Several presentations were made.

N.Z.D.X. Club.—The Auckland branch held a successful social and dance in the Carlton Hall, Sandrinjiham. A feature of the evening was an exhibition of toe dancing by Miss Clark.

Society of Musicians.—The junior branch met at Warwick C'liambers, when a performance of modern compositions was presented. Mrs. Boult presided, assisted by Miss Ethel Hammond.

Hospital Auxiliary.—The ways and means committee held a successful bridge afternoon at George Court's reception rooms to raise money for the sick and needy. The convener was Mrs. H. Bolitho. Prizes were won by Mesdames Carter, I.aird, Pullar and Lorrimer.

Birmingham and Midland.—The association held its annual fancy dress ball at the Fabian Club rooms, the president, Mr. H. V. Hampton, presiding. Official visitors were Mr. Parkinson, president of the Cumberland and Westmorland Society, and Mrs. Parkinson. Dancing was interspersed with solos and quartet singing. • • • • Overseas League.—A concert organised by Mr. V. Bosworth was given for the N.C'.O. camp at Narrow Neck. Mr. Alan McElwain was stage manager, and Mr. Alan Pow was the accompanist.

Mothers' Club.—The Mothers' Club of the Y.W.C.A. held it seventeenth birthday in the assembly hall. Members and friends were welcomed by the president, Mrs. (Sharp. Mrs. Rtidd s|»oke of the Y.W.C.A.'s work in other parts of the World. Vocal solos were rendered by Madame Veta Cornwall, Mrs. F. Jones and Mr. J. Stevens.
