PERSONAL.

Mr. J. A. B. Hellaby left for Sydney by the flying boat Awarua this morning.

Mr. R. T. Reid, chairman of the Auckland Harbour Board, is visiting Wellington.

Mr. E. L. Rut ledge arrived from the south by the Limited express this morning.

Sir Francis Frazer is joining the Limited express at Frankton to-night and will travel to Wellington.

Mr. Jacob Elliott, member of the Government Railways Appeal Board, will (be a passenger for Wellington by the Limited express this evening.

The Hons. Cotter. A. Burns. T. Blood worth. ,T. Alexander. F. E. Lark and B. Martin, M.L.l'.'s. will travel to Wellington by train to-night.

The Ht. Hon. J. (i. Coates and Messrs. P. t'arr. A. S. Rivhards. \V. T. Anderton and W. I'. Endean, M.P.'s. will return to Wellington by train to-night.

Major-General J. E. Duican. Chief of the General Staff. who arrived from Wellington on Saturday morning and attended the eonferenoe of the Emergency Precautions Council, will join the Limited express at Frankton to-night on his return south.

Mr. F. W. Mothes. who for some years lias lieen managing director of the Goldberg Advertising Agency, Sydney and Melbourne, has resigned that position in order to return to New Zealand to offer his services for war work in the Dominion. Mr. Mothes enlisted in the New Zealand Kxpcditionarv Force, Main Body, in August, 1914, and saw. four and a half years' war service in Gallipoli, England and France. After being found unfit for further active service as a result of being wounded on Gallipoli he was given an administrative position at X.Z.E.F. Headquarters, Ijondon, and during 1917 and 1918 was second in command, N.Z.E.F. record office, London and Rouen. For his services he received the decoration of Member of the Order of the British Empire.
