FAMILY POISONED.
THREE IN HOSPITAL. PT. CHEVALIER RESIDENTS. CONDITION NOT SERIOUS. Suffering from the effects of food poisoning, three members of one family wexe admitted to the Auckland Hospital late on Saturday night. They were Mr. Walter Felix, a carpenter, aged 51, of 17, Miro Avenues Point Chevalier, his wife, Mrs. Edith Emily Felix, aged 49, and their son, Geoffrey Felix, aged 19. Their condition, whi:h was serious when first admitted, improved after treatment. The hospital authorities : reported to-day that Mr. Felix and his son are progressing favourably, while Mrs. Felix's condition is fair.
After the eveninjr meal on Saturday uiglit. the son, Geoffrey Felix, went to the pictures. Feeling unwell, ho came home in a taxi and arrived (suffering considerable pain to find his father and mother in a similar condition. As there was no telepliono in the house. Mrs. Felix managed to struggle to a nearby shop, where she rang for a doctor. After medical assistance had been given, the •three wero taken to hospital in a St. John ambulance.
It is thought that the poisoning may have resulted from a tin of salmon which had formed part of the meal.
