This Morning's Work—Padishah

Doubtful Starter.

WELLINGTON, this day.

Little work of an instructive nature irai accomplished at I'renthain this morning, and the main interest centred in the schooling, the galloping trials being few and far between. The tracks were very heavy after further rain and the weather remains threatening. Ballv Brit (P. J. Boyle) and Surcoat (R. Register) both gave faultless displays over Jive of the steeplechase fcDces along the back. Bally Brit being a shade faster in leaping.

1 uraki (P. J. Boyle) was sent over two hurdles giving a sound display. British Isles (H. Maria) schooled over five fences over country jumping perfectly and faster than on Thursday.

Onewlietu (J. Chaplin) snd Lovelilt (M. Krardnu), who were companions In a simiaiL,tnsk' also . v " ,lßr well throughout. Tiio mo-'t important bout over hurdles was done by Jewelled Girdle (11. Maria*. llessk-Moon (J. Mcßae) and Very Glad (A. C.ilmrr >. who wore sent over four fences. Jewelled Girdle was inclined to run about, but otherwise all jumped satisfactorilv. Bine Tiger (C. Shield*. Midland" (A. Currant and Good Sun (L. Nesbitt) each schooled safely in sejiarate tasks over hurdles.

Other jumpers working on the flat included Clarion Call. Kincora, Nightbouml. "Jay Boa and Jack Tar. Meanwhile there is a doubt whether I'adishah will start In the Wellington Steeples, and there is a possihilitv that Gay Boa will be ridden by A. K. Ellis.

Oil Ibo fliit Sly Fox boat Blonde Princess by a length over fire furlongs in 1.8. tlio last, half mile in 555. Alma and Gold Ballad finished in front of Cherokee after traversing six furloucs in 1.23. the last half-mile in 565. The other work was mostly of a useful nature.
