RUMOUR KILLED.
NO HONORARIUM.
PATRIOTIC COUNCIL OFFICERS
\ request made by the Mayor and chairman of the Auckland Provincial Patriotic Council, Sir Ernest Davis, that the Auckland Metropolitan Milk Council should extend for a further period the arrangement by which the services of its secretary, Mr. N. R- Chapman, are made available to the Patriotic Council was acceded to by the Milk Council at its meeting to-day. Mr C. J. Lovegrove said he wanted to take the opportunity to kill the rumour that Mr. Chapman was receiving en honorarium for his services to the Patriotic Council. . Mr I. J. Goldstine: As deputy-chair-man of the Patriotic Council let me say that Mr. Chapman and the whole of the officers are acting in an honorary capaciity. I think unfounded rumours should Ibe killed when men are giving their time, not only during the day, but at all hours of the night, to assist the patriotic movement.
