MANUREWA BOROUGH.
A meeting of the Manurewa Borough Council was held laet evening, the Mayor, Mr. W. J. Ferguson, being in the chair. Foreman's Report.—The borough :oreman reported that 40 men were engaged on concrete footpath construction. Massey Road had been completed and work had commenced on Jellicoe Road. South Road garden plote had been dug over. The Public Worke Department had completed the chlorination of the Hill Road bore to the satisfaction of the Health Department, and authority had been given to uee same. Fire Brigade.—The superintendent of the Fire Brigade reported receiving a call at 10.10 p.m. on Wednesday from the Alffifiton School. The outshed was burning and the brigade saved the greater portion of the sheds. Stock Traffic—Mr. J. Massey, M.P., advised that more adequate facilities for the handling of stock traffic had lihou diecutssed with the Hon. the Minister of Public Works and he was hop-fti , that some relief would be afforded at an earlydate. Removal of Memorial. —The Manurewa R.S.A. advised that there would be no objection from that body of the proposed removal of the war niemotiul towards the school gatee to improve the visibility and safety of the corner.
