GIFT TO GREAT BRITAIN.
REID GROSS SOCIETY PROPOSAL.
A proposal which it is felt will have the lull support of all in a position to assist was made at the meeting of the Mount Eden branch of the Red Cross Society, when it was decided to launch a campaign which would enable a "food ship" to 'be sent to England to arrive about Christmas time.
The Mayor, Mr. R. Mills, president of the branch, was in the chair, and after considerable discussion the branch decided that all branches of the society in the Dominion be communicated with, also all labour organisations, together with industries dealing in wool, butter, meat and cheese, and. their assistance sought. A letter has been sent to the. Prime Minister, the Hon. P. Fraeer, asking the Government's co-operation in the v-o----posal.
