The Professorial Board will recommend to the council of the Otago University that the August vacation be dispensed with, the winter and spring terms to be continuous. This will ehable lectures to cease on September 14 and terras examinations to cease on September 28.

Territorials called up for home defence on October 1 will complete the session, thus etanding a better chance of being recommended for a war pass in the November degree examinations, for which they will almost certainly be unable to sit. This arrangement is for all arts, science, music, law, commerce and mining classes, and first-year medical, dental and home science clasees. Later, an announcement will be made with reepect to other years in these three cola , see.
