BLUNDER IN KENYA.
Conscripted Natives Taken For British Force.

An official statement liy the British headquarters in the Middle East says details have been received of an Italian blunder • »ti the Kenya-Abys-sinia frontier which had involved the Italians in considerable losses. At dawn on June 2A, in the ncijihhourhoitd of Muyule. in a small defended frontier village in the northern province of Kenya, a concent ration of Italian troop, mistook a patrol of Banda —Italian conscripted native levies — for British troops and opened fire.
Several of tin- unfortunate Banda were killed and wounded. Their comrades returned the Italians' lire, causing several casualties.
Wlh-ii the mistake was discovered the Italian* rallied and turned artillery and machine-gun lire on the British troo|* across the valley, at Fort Harrington. The attempted attack was a complete failure. No British casualties or damage were reported.
