VALUES FIRM.

STRONG DEMAND.

WESTFIELD STOCK SALE.

CAIF SECTION EASIER. A smaller yarding of ox beef than last week "attracted very keen competition at the Westfield fat stock sales to-day, and values remained firm at last week's quotations, at 39/ per 1001b. A good line of steers from J. Hannon, Ohaupo, went up to £15 17/6. Values for cows and heifers also remained very firm, the quality on the whole being better than at recent sales. Up to £12 15/ was paid for a line from K. P. Fullerton-Smith and Company, Tuakau. In the calf section a larger yarding easily satisfied the demand, and values eased in consequence.
