REUNION BANQUET.

PONSONBY SCHOOL JUBILEE.

600 EX-PUPILS ATTEND. A banquet and social attended by six hundred ex-pup!la of the Ponsonby Primary School from all parts of New Zealand, was held in the Farmere' Trading Company's reception hall on Saturday night, in celebration of the school's jubilee reunion. Bowls of Iceland poppies were used to charming effect in the bwnquet room, while smaller vasee of pale blue and dark blue flowers carried out the school colours.

Guests of honour at the official table included: The chairman of the executive committee, Mr. R. A. Rew, and Mrs. Rew; the chairman of the Education Board, Mr. W. ,1. Campbell, and Mrs. Campbell; the deputy-chairman, Mr. A. C. Norden, and Mre. Norden; the organiser-secretary, Mr. A. T. Dow, and Mre. Dow; the honorary treasurer, Mr. S. A. Cleal, and Mrs. Cleal; the headmaster, Mr. n. I'rows ZSroati, and Mrs. Pro we Broad; the chairman of the school committee, Mr. W. H. Fortune, and Mrs. Fortune; Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Witeon, Mr. and -.Irs. L. E. Rhodes, Mr. and Mrs. N. R. Mitchell, Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Edwards, Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Plummer, Mr. J. H. Braithwaite, Mr. T U. Welle, and Mr. E. Smith.

Community ainging opened the programme for the evening, followed by the honouring of the toast list, one of which, for "past and preeent school committees," was proposed by T»lrs. E. W. Wilson, a pupil at the school in 1884. The three-tiered birthday cake, which was the gift of an ex-pupil, Mr. E. Smith, was cut by Mrs. G. 8. Bullen, a pupil at the school in 1893. Songs were given by Madame Gwen de Berg, Miss Eleie Booth, and Mr. A. H. Dallimore, and humorous items by Mr. J. F. Wells. Mrs. L. W. McGregor was the accompanist.
