EARNED INCOMES.

BANGE OP INCBEASE. Some idea of the income tax payable on earned incomes under the new scale of taxation, and-the increase in each case, may bo obtained from the follow-ing-table in which the amounts payable on multiples of £100 up to £3SOO have been calculated. It docs not include the security tax, and indicates that the increase for ' workers on wages from £200 to £600 a year ranges from 0/ per week to 10/ per week:— Taxable Tax ' v. When the taxable balance exceeds a multiple of 100, the amount of tax may. be ascertained by taking the tax shown for the hundreds of pounds and adding a proportionate part of the increase between that amount and the next higher amount in the table. Example: The tax on £220 is £30 3/9, plus onefifth of £17 5/, making £33 12/9. . .
