FREE OF DUTY.
GOODS FOR TROOPS. -ADMISSION TO ENGLAND. CONCESSION ANNOUNCED. ' (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Advice has been received by the Government from the High Commissioner, Mr. W. J. Jordan, that the Commissioners of Customs &nd Excise in the United Kingdom have approved of his office 'being established as a;depot for the New Zealand War Set-vices Association for tiie. duty-free importation of goods. (1) Re-exported to New Zealand Forces: (2) distributed, to units of the New Zealand Forces in the United Kingdom; (3) distributed to individual New Xealanders serving in the British Forces in tho United Kingdom. The arrangement also applies .togparoels of dutiable goods ..sent by post. It would be necessary, said the Hon. W. Nash to-day, for bulk consignments of goods intended for distribution among New Zcalanders serving in the armed forces, in the United Kingdom or on
fronts conveniently served from London, to be sent to the New Zealand War Services Association, care of the High Commissioner's Office. Parcels sent by post to individuals must bear the full name (regimental number if known) and particulars of the unit with which the addressee is serving, and should he sent care of the. New Zealand War' Services Association, 415, The Strand, London, W.C.2. It would be necessary to attach to the parcel the usual Customs declaration, stating- the nature of the goods posted ae well as the weight and value. The procedure outlined, particularly .in respect to parcels requiring re-exporta-tion from England, in no way affects the liability for duty on entry into any country to which any goods may be re-exported.
