Many of Mr. Hoover's friends are hopeful that the speech will make him an outstanding contender for the Presidential nomination. \ The Republican resolutions committee unanimously approved a foreign policy ' platform defining the Republicans as champions of "peace, preparedness and Americanism," denouncing the Jsew Deal and foreign policies, putting the party on record as favouring aid to "oppressed peoples" within the limits of international law.
