The first surprise o£ the meeting was the defeat of Kodney A, runner-up in 1039, by Fra-.lklin, who had played a two-goal draw with Whangarei A in the morning. The points at the end o£ Tuesday's programme were:—Whangarei A 5, Piako 5, Waipa 5, Franklin 4, Kodney A 3, Kodney li 2. Whangarei B 0, Thames 0.
