DRAWING OF ART UNIONS;
LIST OF PRIZE-WINNERS. Various art unions conducted to assist the Queen of . the Air, Miss M. Hutchison, in the. queen carnival, were drawn at the Town Hall this morning. The chairman of the citizens' committee, the Hon. Eliot R. Davis M.L.C., presided, and the actual drawing was done by live citizens called up from the audience, the restilts being chcckcd by a representative of the policc. The results of the art unions were:— Motor ear, G. Far roll, Pukekohe; radio set, No. 53573, no name or address; doll, Mrs. 51. E. Thomas. 10, Golf Road, Epsom; canteen of cutlcry. Miss Newcombe, care of "Herald" Office; man's bicycle, L. Couts, Onehunga.; ladies' bicycle, M. Paul. 112, Grey's Avenue; red setter pup, Wordsworth, 24, Lake Road, Takapuna; bedside chair,- B. Soppett, Bledisloe House, Blind Institute; radio set, J. Brown, Broadway, Devonport; £3 of alluvial gold, Mrs. Tamaliii; coffee set, Mrs. Morpeth, .41, .Watling Street, Mount Eden; ham, Mrs. Alison, Dcvonport; Air Force mascot, A. T. MacDonakl, Walters Street, Mangerc, Otahuliu.
A number of auctions were conducted by Mr. L. J. Coaklcv, who gave his services in an honorary capacity. There were no bids for a section at Birkenhead; and two sections at Titirangi, but it was subsequently announced that an offer of ."£2O had been accepted for the section at Birkenhead. A water-colour of the famous New Zealand flying ace, "Cobber" Kain, was sold several times, and realised £13, it being finally bought on behalf of the Auckland Aero Club. A large number of articles were then auctioned, and brought satisfactory prices. -Musical items were contributed by Mr. A. Boyec and Mr. E. Sncll.
