PUBLIC SAFETY PLANS.
AUCKLAND MEASURES PRAISED. (By Telegraph—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. "There is every evidence that local authorities are forming or have formed adequate organisations to cope with whatever local emergency conditions may arise," said the Minister of Internal Affairs, the Hon. W. E. Parrv, in
a review of emergency precautions schemes presented in the House of Representatives.
Special reference was made by Mr. Parry to action taken in the Auckland district, where, he said, 31 local authorities had combined to prepare a major scheme for the Auckland metropolitan area.
"It is apparent that a scheme has been prepared which has all' the elements of the safety and protection of the inhabitants of the whole of the Auckland metropolitan area and general farsightedness in its whole preparation.'' Mr. Parry declared.
