LOUIS' REVENGE.
DEFEAT OF GODOY. EIGHT-ROUND KNOCK-OUT. NEW YORK, June 20. The world's heavy-weight champion boxer, Joe Louis, successfully defended his title against Arturo Godoy to-night, the challenger losing by a technical knock-out in the eighth round. The referee stopped the. fight after Godoy, bleeding from the nose and the left eye, was twice floored in the eighth round, once for a count of eight. After the referee had given his decision, Godoy ran to Louis' corner and begged a chance to continue. He seemed about to throw a punch when the police intervened and escorted him back to his corner. The official score card gave Godoy two rounds and Louis five. The betting was four to one against Godoy. Godoy lasted the full 15 rounds with Louis last February, to be beaten on points. It was a contingency of yesterday's fight that if Godoy won he should,meet Louis again for the title vithin two months.
