HEAVY RAID.
[ BORDEAUX ATTACK. Scores Of Bombs Dropped On French City. LYONS OCCUPIED BY NAZIS. United Press Association.—Copyright. (Received 2 p.m.) LONDON, June 20. A hundred German bombers attacked Bordeaux in the second biggest air raid France has experienced during the war. Tncendiary and highexplosive bombs fell in the cityNearby airports, docks and shipping suffered severely. At least 00 serious civilian casualties occurred. Another message says there were 100 casualties in the raid. At least 150 bombs exploded in the city. The French military spokesman said the Germans in western France were progressing feebly. The enemy's main effort was concentrated in the east, where the French Army of Alsace-Lor-raine was trying to escape from the German encirclement. German mechanised units cut across the country north-eastward of Lyons to Bellegarde, 15 miles from Geneva*. These units are presumably trying to make contact with the Italians, who have not yet advanced. The French radio reports that German advance forces have occupied Lyons. Along the main line of the Loire the French withdrew a few miles southwards of Tours to the Cher River.
