BIRKENHEAD WOMEN.
The Mayoress of Birkenhead, Mrs. E. J. Osborne, presided at the meeting of .the Birkenhead Patriotic Committee, A sub-coinmittee was formed to arrange a farewell'to the Birkenhead members of the Third Echelon, when on final leave. At "this function each soldier will be presented with a card and Testament from the Borough Council, and with a hussif from the committee. It was stated that the. knitting of articles was well in hand and a good response hnd been received for supply tins of biscuits and shortbread. '.A full description was given id members of ".the contents of parcels.
